Safety and Support for Sex Workers
The Sex Worker Integration Model (SWIM) is a three year pilot project implemented by the Canadian National Coalition of Experiential Women and PEERS and funded by the Victoria Foundation.
Background
In 2007, PEERS Victoria and the Canadian National Coalition of experiential Women (CNCEW) were awarded a three year project grant to develop a provincially coordinated network and system of focused interventions to address the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) crises in BC’s sexually exploited youth/sex worker’s.
Our Approach
SWIM is based on peer support, collaboration, visioning and action in concert with provincial and community based pro-viders. This coordinated grass roots approach will ensure we have participation from stakeholders including provincial government, support agencies, health providers, and sex workers.
